When I was a kid, at Christmas one of us would inevitably get a copy of “Tripoley”. Our relatives must have thought we were already 70 year olds getting together weekly for gambling card night or something. By the time we’d get home from my grandmother’s house, half the pieces would be lost already and the game would eventually end up in the closet to be scavenged for other purposes until it was thrown away.
That is not this Tripoli, which is the capitol city of Libya and the home of the Barbary Pirates who terrorized American shipping in the very early 1800s. “The Shores of Tripoli”, a new release from newcomer Fort Circle Games covers that Jeffersonian conflict in a quick, card-driven game. Join me as I explore the contents and production quality of this release.
