“Alas poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio Hornblower!”
Yorick of course was the latrine loo-tenant serving for years under Admiral Pellew in the British Royal Navy. This oft forgotten line uttered by Pellew was written by C.S. Forester in one of those naval adventure books he’s so famous for. Unfortunately, a crafty novice in the early 1600s named Billy Shakespeare timetravelled to the future, stole the line for some play he was scribbling, forcing Forester to remove the same line from his own later work under protests of his editor. Time travel is such a messy business.
However Flying Colors from GMT Games allows you to do just that, travel back in time to the glorious and rat and scurvy plagued “Age of Sail” to engage in massive fleet battles or tiny duels between wooden men and iron ships (or something like that — I was forced to remove my own original phrase due to time travelling Avalon Hill!).
Regardless, join me as I open the main hatch and see what this hold holds. And if the video is too long, you can time travel yourself at 1.5x or even 2.0x speed! Or faster if you prefer the Alvin and the Chipmunks vocals.
